PM Hailemariam pledges to provide support for Somaliland presidential election

Addis Ababa, November 10, 2017 (FBC) – Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn said Ethiopia would provide the necessary support to make the upcoming Somaliland presidential election fair and peaceful. 

The Premier received President of Somaliland, Mohamed Silanyo, at his office today, where both sides discussed on the election which Somaliand will conduct on Monday and on other bilateral relations.

The two leaders discussed on ways to make the election peaceful, fair and credible, Zadig Abrha, advisor to the Prime Minister, who attended the discussion, told ENA.

The Premier assured the visiting President that Ethiopia would contributes its share for the peaceful conduct and end of the election.

The two sides also agreed to focus on building infrastructure to further elevate their ties.

The outgoing president pledged to do his part to strengthen the existing security, trade, education, agriculture and other relation between Ethiopia and Somaliland.

Somaliland will conduct its 4th Presidential election on Monday.

Earlier today, a delegation led by Somaliland President Mohamed Silanyo met today with Foreign Minister Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu.
