PM Hailemariam discusses with Ethiopian communities in Qatar

Addis Ababa, November 14, 2017 (FBC) – Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn has held discussion with Ethiopians living in Qatar.

Extending his gratitude for the support they have given so far for the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), the Premier urged them to strengthen their backing of the dam in the future, too.

PM Hailemariam said his government will give the necessary support for Ethiopian communities living in Qatar.

Peace and security have been restored in areas affected by violence, he said, pledging to work together with the public until durable peace and security are existed in the areas.

The Premier also told the participants that Ethiopia’s economy has been growing by 10.9 percent on average.

Ethiopian community for their part commended the efforts made by the government in repatriating undocumented Ethiopians from Saudi Arabia and the economic growth registered in their country of origin.

They also asked the government to provide support for the opening of a community school in Qatar.

The Premier will meet with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani at the Emiri Diwan today.

Prime Minister Hailemariam arrived in Doha yesterday for an official visit to Qatar.
