President Mulatu urges nations and nationalities of Ethiopia to safeguard Constitution

Addis Ababa, December 7, 2017 (FBC) –President Mulatu Teshome has called on all nations, nationalities and people of Ethiopia to safeguard the Constitution.

Ethiopia will mark the 12th Nations, Nationalities and People’s Day tomorrow in Semera, Afar regional state, northern part of Ethiopia.

In his congratulations message, the President said “all nations, nationalities and people of Ethiopia have the responsibility to safeguard the Constitution and ensure its effective implementation.”

Stating that Ethiopia is home to several nations and nationalities, the President said that the celebration helped them to promote their languages, cultures and religions.

The day is celebrated in commemoration of the people of Ethiopia’s triumph against the past regimes that had deprived them of their rights.

It also commemorates the day when Ethiopia’s Constitution was adopted.
