Road accident in south Wollo zone claims 38 lives

Addis Ababa, March 13, 2018 (FBC) –About 38 people were killed in a road accident occurred in Legambo woreda (district) in south Wollo zone, Amhara regional state.

The accident occurred yesterday when a bus traveling from Mekane Selam to Desie carrying 48 people fell off a cliff.

According to government communication affairs office of Legambo woreda, a total of 38 people, (28 men, and 10 women) were killed in the accident.

The office added that 10 people have also sustained serious and minor injuries. Most of victims of the accidents were students of higher learning institutions.

Those injured in the accident were receiving medical care at Hidar 11 hospital in Akesta hospital. Those who have sustained serious injuries were referred to Desie hospital.
