Police intercept over 350 illegal pistols being smuggled into Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, May 17, 2018 (FBC) – Police have intercepted more than 350 pistols being smuggled into Ethiopia via Sudan.

The weapons were seized yesterday at Awrora village, Tsegedie woreda (district) in Tigray regional state.

Capitan Eshete Awoke, head of Tsegedie woreda security office told EBC yesterday that the pistols were intercepted as a result of the joint efforts of security forces and defense army.

Police is investigating a driver and its assistant of an Isuzu vehicle that cooperated in carrying the illegal weapons.
