High Level Revitalization Forum on S Sudan starts in Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa, May 17, 2018 (FBC) -The 2nd High Level Revitalization Forum (HLRF) on South Sudan kicked off in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia today.

Ethiopia’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr Workneh Gebeyehu, urged South Sudanese parties to respect the ceasefire agreement and bridge their differences.

The former Prime Minister had made an all round support for the success of the peace process, he recalled, adding the new Premier will also attach due attention for it.

The South Sudanese parties are the key actors for the stability of Africa’s youngest country, Dr Workneh said.

Ahead of today’s Forum, the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) organized a two day seminar from May 15 to 16, 2018.

The seminar brought together stakeholders of the South Sudan crisis to discuss governance and security issues.

Held in Addis Ababa, the seminar was aimed at supporting the parties’ deliberations during the Forum.

The first phase of the HLRF was held in December 2017 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where the Cessation of Hostilities Agreement was signed by stakeholders.
