Pharmaceutical plant built with $85mln inaugurated

Addis Ababa, June 11, 2018 (FBC) –Sansheng Pharmaceuticals Plc yesterday inaugurated a pharmaceutical plant built at a cost of 85 million US dollars in the premises of the Eastern Industrial Zone on the outskirt of Addis Ababa.

Deputy Prime Minister Demeke Mekonnen, who attended the inauguration ceremony, said the plant will help Ethiopia to save 500 million US dollars which it spends to purchase medicines annually.

Moreover, it could generate income for the country, he said.

Demeke also said the government will continue supporting for local and foreign investors

The pharmaceutical plant has an annual production capacity of 5 billion solid preparations, 300 million ampoules and 10 million large volume parenterals.
