During the press conference he gave today in connection with the celebration of the day, House of Federation Speaker Yalew Abate said the day would create good opportunity towards consolidating ties among the inhabitants of the nation.
Despite differences in culture, language and belief, the people have created values that enable them to live together peacefully, he added.
The celebration this year is unique in that all the nations, nationalities and peoples have cooperated to repulse the anti-peace and destructive elements, the speaker noted.
Speaker Yalew indicated that the celebration of the day would also require building infrastructure that do not only benefit the venues but are also handed down to the coming generation.
The current hosting state, Harari Regional State, has finalized preparations for the colorful celebration of the 11th Nations, Nationalities and Peoples Day on December 8, 2016.
All preparations have been finalized by the state of emergency command post to ensure security, the speaker concluded.
