Ministry announces increase on retail prices of fuel

Addis Ababa, January 10, 2017 (FBC) – The Ministry of Trade has announced an increase on retail prices of fuel, effective from January 10, 2017.

According to a statement the Ministry sent to FBC yesterday, an increase on the retail prices was made following a continuous price raise of fuel at the global market during the past three months.

As of today, fuel stations will retail benzene at 16.61 birr per litre, white diesel at 14.16 birr per litre, kerosene at 13.65 birr per litre, light black diesel at 13.57 birr per litre and hard black diesel at 12.93 birr per litre.

Airplane fuel will be retailed at 15.49 birr per litre.

According to the statement, the new retail prices of fuel will remain effectual for the coming 28 days beginning from today.
