President Guelleh concludes Ethiopia visit

Addis Ababa, March 18, 2017 (FBC) –President Ismail Omar Guelleh of Djibouti travelled back home today after concluding his tree-day visit to Ethiopia.

Foreign Minister Dr Workneh Gebeyehu saw off the President at the Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa.

The President visited Ethiopian Airlines and Bole Lemi industrial park on Saturday.

On Thursday, he addressed both Ethiopian Houses- the House of People’s Representatives (HPR) and the House of Federation (HoF).

In his remark, the president highlighted the excellent bilateral relations and the bright future ahead as well as urged members of the Houses to contribute their share to further strengthen ties between the two countries.

President Guelleh also appreciated Ethiopia’s effort and leadership role in creating regional economic integration between the two countries and setting example for Africa at large.

On Friday, the president held bilateral talks with Prime Minister Hailemariam Dessalegn during which the two sides have inked major cooperation agreements, giving way to a new dawn over the already excellent ties.

The signed agreements include cooperation on extradition, mutual legal assistance on criminal matters, on cooperation in the fields of justice and legal training and trade.

The two sides concluded the talks giving due emphasis on the need for more and speedy implementations of cooperation packages to further enhance the relations and keep the bar higher.
