Over 50,000 women take part in a city-wide fitness event in commemorating March 8

Addis Ababa, March 7, 2021 (FBC) – More than 50,000 women have today participated in a city-wide fitness event held at Meskel Square in the presence of Deputy Mayor of Addis Ababa, Adanech Abiebie public figures.

The event has been organized under the motto of “Women’s Participation for Inclusive Prosperity” to mark this year’s International Women’s Day or March 8.

Deputy Mayor Adanech Abebe who has presided over the event said women should develop a habit of regular exercises and actively take part in such events to collectively protect sexual violence as well as other challenges.

“If there are elements who covet support of women by deceiving them, they should stop and think rationally,” she said.

According to information obtained from the Addis Ababa Press Secretariat Office, the event was attended by senior government officials, women leaders from all Sub-Cities, veteran athletes and artists from across the nation.
