ESSTI inaugurates a €3mln Multi Satellite Ground Station

Addis Ababa, May 15, 2021 (FBC) – Ethiopian Space Science and Technology Institute (ESSTI) has today inaugurated Multi Satellite Ground Station which has been built at a cost of 3 Million Euros.

The inauguration ceremony has been attended high ranking government officials and space observatory experts and various stakeholders.

Dr. Ahmedin Ahmed, State Minister of Ministry of Innovation and Technology, while inaugurating the project, said the new facility will play a big role in stepping up institute’s efforts to become leading and effective central facility in receiving and analyzing satellite information.

Installation of the 7.3 meters height tower is said to have been carried within three years.

The multi satellite ground station would enable the institute receive data and information from five international earth survey satellites.
