Commission to begin national dialogue in coming March

Addis Ababa, November 30, 2022 (FBC) – The Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission has announced the schedule of the next major activities.

Thus, it is said that they will establish a working system by December 2015, compile an agenda in January and February, complete the drafting of consultation agendas from February to March 2015, and hold national consultations in March 2015.

The Ethiopian National Consultative Commission has presented its activities and work plan to the House of Representatives.

Professor Mesfen Araya, the Chief Commissioner of the Commission who presented the report, said that, first of all, preparations have been made to help the commission hold consultations that will form the basis for creating a national consensus.

He said that in terms of identification of participants and agenda collection system in the consultation process, an equal implementation system will be followed in four areas of focus, which are regional, city administrations, federal and diaspora.

He said that the participants are political leaders, thought leaders and representatives of various sections of the society. ESA also reported that it was stated that all sections of the society will have equal participation and influence in the consultation process.

It is indicated that the work of recruiting moderators and facilitators will be done in the months of November to January.
