Reform implementation made Ethiopian Air Force invincible: ENDF Chief of Staff
Addis Ababa, December 15, 2023 (FBC) – The reform undertaken by the Ethiopian Air Force has made it an invincible institution for Ethiopia, Field Marshal Berhanu Jula said.
During a panel discussion held in connection with the Air Force’s 88 years of journey today, Chief of General Staff of the National Defense Forces, Field Marshal Berhanu stated that as a result of reform implementation, the Ethiopian Air Force has made milestones in both manpower and technology.
He added that the reform has achieved a target of building a professional and non-partisan army to any political party or ideology.
This great nation has repeatedly defeated foreign invaders, Field Marshal Berhanu said, recalling the challenges of internal conflicts.
Outstanding achievements have been made to realize the vision of making the Ethiopian Air Force amongst the top African air forces by 2030, he stated, and added there is still much to be done.
Deputy Chief of Staff, General Abebaw Tadesse noted on his part that the National Defense Force has been built on precious sacrifices made to the nation.
It is known that the Ethiopian Air Force is celebrating its 88th anniversary showcasing the remarkable resilience it has gained through generations.
Ethiopian Air Force Commander Lieutenant General Yilma Merdasa, said that the reform is paying off in building a solid institution that transcends generations.
He noted the air force which is entrusted to safeguard the sovereignty of the nation, will carry out its mission with utmost potential.
