A leather goods production company at Dire Dawa Industrial Park begins exporting shoes

Addis Ababa, November 18, 2021 ((FBC) – Andrea Shoes, a leather goods Production Company based in Dire Dawa Industrial Park, has exported its first products to the Italian market. 

The company has started its manufacturing process by investing 750 million USD and taking a 5,500 square meter production shed in Dire Dawa industrial park. 

Currently, more than 18, 600 pairs of shoes produced by the company have been exported to Italy.  As a result, 80,336 USD was earned from those export. 

Andrea Shoes, a maker of women’s leather shoes, bags, and other leather goods, has been working hard to expand its market in Europe and North America. 

According to EPA, Andrea Shoes is a company that produces women’s shoes and leather goods and distributes them in the Italian market. 

So far, the company’s first round of production activity has resulted in the creation of 229 employment, with 77 men and 152 women employees.

In the second phase, the company plans to expand its operations, which will result in the creation of more than 450 additional job possibilities, bringing the total number of employee job chances to 700.

Dire Dawa industrial park was inaugurated in2018. Currently it has 15 production sheds, 5 manufacturing companies and more than 1300 employees.
