Addis Ababa signs deals Chinese companies to smarten city transportation

Addis Ababa, March 14, 2022 (FBC) – The Addis Ababa City Administration has inked deals with two Chinese companies in a bid to smarten city mass transportation sector.

The first agreement is aimed to inject the city transportation system with 110 modern city buses from Yutong Bus Manufacturing Company with a budget of 15 million USD secured from the World Bank.

According to the agreement reached, the company will avail the buses within eight months period.

The other deal has been reached with Shindo Hisense to equip the Anbessa  Mass Transportation enterprise with up to date digital information system that would help bring speedy, dependable and convenient services to rresidents.

Mayor of Addis Ababa, Adanech Abiebie, on the signing ceremony, called on the private sector to join the city transportation sector.
