Addis Chamber, Chinese CCOIC-CC agree to forge partnership

Addis Ababa, December 25, 2020 (FBC) – Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations held  virtual discussions with its Chinese counterpart, China Chamber of International Commerce Chongqing Chamber (CCOIC-CC) on how to forge partnership.

Ethiopian Consul to China, Anteneh Tariku highlighted longstanding ties between Ethiopia and China and Chinese companies’ engagement in Ethiopia’s development activities. He further appreciated the initiative from the two chambers of commerce to work in partnership.

Secretary General of CCOIC-CC, Leo Li, to his part explained to leadership of the Addis Ababa Commerce and Sectoral Associations about duties and responsibilities of his organization and expressed interest to invite its Addis Ababa’s counterpart to trade fairs and exhibitions that take part in China.

The Secretary General also expressed the commitment of his Chamber of Commerce to offer working office for Addis Ababa’s counterpart in China for free.

He also vowed to offer technical support to Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Association on implementation of Digital business data system and to arrange working visit for its professionals and leadership in China.

Secretary General of the Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Association, Getachew Regassa, to his part, told the Chinese counterpart that his organization is working in partnership with 70 peer chamber of commerce at international level.

The two chambers of Commerce have reached an agreement to arrange an online human resource capacity building trainings to female entrepreneurs who are members of the Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Association.

Two also have decided to sign MoU so that they will work together in several areas of cooperation.
