Ambassador Demitu presents her letter of credence to President of Italy

Addis Ababa, April 29, 2021 (FBC) -Demitu Hambisa, Ambassador of Ethiopia to Italy, presented her letter of credence today to the President Italy Sergio Mattarella, in a ceremony organized at the Quirinale Palace, Rome, Italy.

On the occasion, Ambassador Demitu and Mattarella exchanged views regarding the longstanding and multifaceted relationship between the two sisterly countries which existed for centuries.

Ambassador Demitu also briefed the President about the upcoming election, the Ethio-Sudan border conflicts, the GERD negotiation process and the efforts to maintain peace and security and address humanitarian challenges in the country.

President Mattarella mentioned the importance of strengthening the longstanding and historic ties between the two sisterly countries.

The President also expressed wishes Ethiopia will succeed in its reforms and overcome its internal challenges.

Finally, Ambassador Demitu expressed  to the President her readiness to work hard in further deepening the historic relations between the two sisterly countries.
