Addis Ababa deputy mayor arrives in Semera, Afar state

Addis Ababa, September 20, 2020 (FBC) – Deputy mayor of Addis Ababa city, Adanech Abiebie, has arrived in Semera to provide humanitarian assistance to people affected by flooding in Afar regional state.

Upon arrival at Sultan Alimirah Hanfare Airport, she was welcomed by Awel Arba, Chief Administrator of the regional state and other senior officials.

The city administration’s cabinet recently decided to provide humanitarian assistance worth 29 million birr to communities affected by flooding in different parts of the country.

Of the total, those affected by flooding resulted from the overflow of Awash River in Afar will get food and non-food items worth 12 million birr.
