Ambassador Nasise briefs senior officials of Canada on latest developments in Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, February 25, 2021 (FBC) – Ethiopian Ambassador to Canada, Nasise Challi has briefed Deputy Minister and Foreign and Defense Advisor of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, David Morrison on latest developments in Ethiopia particularly in Tigray.

The Ambassador explained to Deputy Minister and advisor David Morrison the positive progresses in rehabilitation and rebuilding efforts in Tigray region despite some challenges.

She further raised the great concern of the government of Ethiopia about the unsubstantiated and politically motivated misinformation campaign that doesn’t reflect the real progress made on the ground in Tigray region.

Ambassador Nasise also briefed acting Director General of Global Affairs of Canada, Beth Richardson on current situation in Tigray, Ethiopia-Sudan border issue, negotiations o The Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) and upcoming national elections.

The tow further agreed to further cement relationship between Ethiopia and Canada.

She further briefed parliamentary secretary to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Canada, Rob Oliphant on latest development in Ethiopia.
