An Ethiopian Ship commences cargo service at Berbera Port

Addis Ababa, July 6, 2021 (FBC) – An Ethiopian Ship named “Gibe” has docked at the Port of Berbera for the first time at Berbera Port of Somaliland after two decades. The ship started cargo service using the Port.

The ship has transported over 11,000 ton of Sugar and Rice through the Gulf-India Sub-Continent and docked at the Berbera Port as another Ethiopian ship, Shebele is expected to arrive at the port next week.

The ship which is property of the Ethiopian Shipping and Logistics Services Enterprise has been accorded welcome from diplomants in Ethiopian Consul General in Somaliland, Seid Mohammed and Enterprise’s manager Roba Megerssa.

Dubai Ports Authority officials have also attending the event held to announce commencement of the shipping service.
