Austria appreciates Ethiopia’s stand shown to bring durable peace

Addis Ababa, August 1, 2022 (FBC) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Austria to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Dr. Simone Knapp presented the copy of her letter of credentials to Demeke Atinafu, Director General of Protocol Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia.

Both sides exchanged views on the long standing historical ties and existing diplomatic relations of the two countries.

Director General Demeke briefed the Austrian ambassador the stands and commitments taken by the Ethiopian Government to bring lasting peace in the country by ending the conflict in the Northern Part, facilitating unfettered Humanitarian assistance, and establishing an all-inclusive National Dialogue Commission.

He also appreciated Austria for Humanitarian support extended to Ethiopia and noted that the relationships of the two Countries is historical that will remain in the hearts and minds of Ethiopians.

On her part, Ambassador Dr. Simone Knapp appreciated the Ethiopian Government’s stand shown to bring durable peace in the country by ending the conflict in the Northern part peacefully and establishing a National Dialoque Commission that included all concerned groups.

During her stay in Ethiopia, the Austrian ambassador pledged to scale up bilateral relationships that exist between the two Countries.

Demeke told the Austrian Ambassador that his office is ready to give necessary services that will make her duties in Addis Ababa fruitful.
