Deputy PM Demeke, Gabonese FM discuss on exploring African solutions to African problems

Addis Ababa, September 22, 2021 (FBC) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Demeke Mekonnen discussed with Foreign Affairs Minister of Gabon Pacome Moubelet-Boubeya on ways of exploring African solutions to African problems.

The two exchanged views on bilateral, regional and global issues of mutual concerns.

Deputy Prime Minister Demeke expressed confidence that Gabon will play a constructive role in becoming an African voice during its non-permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council.

Saying that the UNSC is attaching greater emphasis to the Horn of Africa Region, the Deputy Prime Minister stresses the need to consolidate efforts to bring homegrown mechanisms to continental challenges.

In their conversation, the two senior officials focused on exploring African solutions to African problems.

They also vowed stronger bilateral ties between Ethiopia and Gabon.
