Addis Ababa, May 31, 2023 (FBC) – The Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Ambassador Meles Alem, in his bi-weekly press briefing conducted earlier today, addressed the local and Addis Ababa-based media on the diplomatic activities and engagements of Ethiopia.
The Ambassador principally highlighted the recent high-level official visit to China led by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Demeke Mekonnen.
Ambassador Meles said the five-day diplomatic tour is the epitome of fast growing Ethiopia-China ties, especially in the areas of investment, trade, agriculture, pharmaceuticals and technology transfer.
The inauguration of a new Ethiopian Embassy complex in itself is indicative of this trajectory, he added.
After briefly highlighting the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the OAU/AU, Ambassador Meles responded to miscellaneous questions raised by reporters.
