Ethiopia calls on UAE investors to engage in Pharmaceutical sectors

Addis Ababa, March 15, 2022 (FBC) – Ethiopian Investment Commission, the Ethiopian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, and the Consulate in Dubai and the Northern Emirates have organized a forum in Dubai to promote investment opportunities in the pharmaceutical sector in Ethiopia.

Deputy Commissioner of the Ethiopian Investment Commission, Temesgen Tilahun, Executive Director of the Ethiopian Industrial Parks Development Corporation, Sendokan Debebe, Representative of Ethiopia’s Consul General in Dubai and the United Arab Emirates, Abebe Mebratu, and investors have attended the forum.

Representative of Ethiopia’s Consul General in Dubai and the United Arab Emirates, Abebe Mebratu, delivered opening remarks appreciating the multifaceted relationships between Ethiopia and the UAE and called on investors in the UAE to exploit opportunities provided in the pharmaceutical sector by the Ethiopian government.

Temesgen Tilahun and Sendokan Debebe, on their part, expounded on various available investment incentives and opportunities provided by the Investment Commission and the industrial parks built in Ethiopia.

It is to be recalled that India’s Glocare Pharma recently inaugurated a $5M pharmaceutical plant in Kilinto Industrial park, one of the industrial parks tailored to investments in the health sector.
