Ethiopia creates 2.8mln new jobs in first three quarters of fiscal year 

Addis Ababa, June 12, 2021 (FBC) – The National Job Creation Council appraised this fiscal year’s job performance of the country in the presence of senior government officials including Deputy Prime Minister Demeke Mekonne and Job Creation Commissioner Nigusu Tilahun, among others.

The country has been undertaking a wide range of activities to create 3 million jobs till the end of the concluding Ethiopian fiscal year, the Job Creation Commissioner Nigusu Tilahun said on the occasion.

More than 2.8 million people across the nation have been offered employment opportunities during the last nine months of the concluding fiscal year, the Commissioner stated.

Commissioner Nigusu Tilahun said most of the jobs have been facilitated in the service sector which comprised 41pct of the employment areas while manufacturing and agriculture sectors make 30pct and 29pct respectively.
