Ethiopia, Djibouti forge stronger cooperation in immigration and border control

Addis Ababa, April 16, 2024 (FBC) – In a significant development, Ethiopia and Djibouti have solidified their commitment to enhancing collaboration in immigration information exchange and border control.

The Director General of Immigration and Citizenship Service of Ethiopia, Ms. Selamawit Dawit, held constructive discussions with Djibouti’s Minister of Interior, Saeed Noah Hassan.

During their meeting, the two officials delved into various aspects of immigration and citizenship services, while also exploring avenues to improve cooperation in the realm of border control.

Notably, they exchanged insights on key issues that could further strengthen their partnership in safeguarding their borders effectively.

Furthermore, both parties reached a pivotal agreement to intensify their existing cooperation by pinpointing and addressing any gaps identified during their deliberations. This move underscores the shared commitment of Ethiopia and Djibouti to bolstering security measures and fostering closer ties in the vital areas of immigration and border control.
