Ethiopia, India friendship transformed into comprehensive dev’t partnership over the years: State Minister

Addis Ababa March 14, 2023 (FBC) – State Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia Ambassador Mesganu Arga has met with Robert Shetkintong, Indian Ambassador to Ethiopia and the African Union.

According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two sides discussed on bilateral and multilateral matters of mutual concern.

The Ministry added that during the conversation, Ambassador Mesganu Arga stated that trade, investment, and development cooperation are all parts of Ethiopia and India’s extensive economic and commercial ties, which have transformed into a comprehensive development partnership.

Ambassador Mesganu also stated that India and Ethiopia have similar perspectives on topics such as cross-border international terrorism, climate change and UN Security Council Reform, MFA further added.

Indian Ambassador to Ethiopia, Robert Shetkintong On his part said that this year has marked the 75th anniversary of the diplomatic relationship between Ethiopia and India, reminding the two countries of their past achievements and the areas they still need to improve to strengthen ties, MFA indicated.
