Ethiopia receives congratulatory message from Djibouti on peace agreement

Addis Ababa, November 3, 2022 (FBC) – The President of Djibouti, Ismail Omar Guelleh, extended his congratulatory message to Ethiopia over the AU-brokered peace talks.

The 10 days long AU-led Ethiopia’s peace talks concluded on Wednesday, both sides signing an agreement to a permanent disarmament, demobilization and reintegration of TPLF.

They also agreed to expedite humanitarian aids, resumption of public services, to implement transitional measures, to safeguarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ethiopia and to upholding the Constitution of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.

Following this new chapter to Ethiopia, friends of Ethiopia across the globe expressed their happiness over the fruitful conclusion of the AU-led peace talks.

Hence, the government of Djibouti is the latest to extend its congratulatory message and solidarity with Ethiopia.

The president of Djibouti, Ismail Omar Guelleh, tweeted welcoming “I welcome the successful conclusion in Pretoria of the cessation of hostilities agreement under the auspices of the AU.”

“Congratulations to the combined efforts of all in forming the wish to see this agreement bring security, peace and prosperity to our region and to our Ethiopian brothers”, he added.
