Ethiopia confirms 29 new COVID-19 cases in 24 hours

Addis Ababa, May 10, 2020 (FBC) –Ethiopia has reported 29 more positive cases for the coronavirus out of the 2,171 samples taken over the past 24 hours.

All the confirmed cases are Ethiopian nationals aged between 15-45 years, a statement from the Ministry of Health indicated.

Of the confirmed cases, 8 have travel history abroad, while the remaining cases had known contact with confirmed cases, it said.

According to the Ministry, 21 of the total cases are from Addis Ababa, 7 from Somali and one from Oromia regional states.

Two people have also recovered from the virus over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries to 99.

The total confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Ethiopia is now 239 with an overall test count of 34, 860. Ethiopia has 5 deaths for the virus so far.
