Ethiopia, Russia reaffirm intentions to promote political dialogue, coordinate steps on int’l stage

Addis Ababa, May 25, 2023 (FBC) – On May 25, Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov received the newly appointed Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the Russian Federation, Cham Ugala Uriat, who presented copies of his credentials.

During the meeting, they discussed current issues related to the further development of comprehensive bilateral cooperation, with an emphasis on expanding cooperation in trade, the economy, investment, education and culture.

The parties reaffirmed Moscow and Addis Ababa’s intention to promote the political dialogue and coordinate their steps on the international stage, including on the settlement process in Sudan and the Horn of Africa.

They also spoke about preparations for the second Russia-Africa Summit in St Petersburg in July, as per MFA Russia.
