Addis Ababa, June 18, 2021 (FBC) – Director General of the Ethiopian Food and Drug Authority, Heran Gerba received World No Tobacco Day Award 2021.
She received the award for her outstanding contribution to tobacco control in Ethiopia through effective leadership role at the Authority.
World Health Organization (WHO) representative to Ethiopia, Dr. Boureima Sambo congratulated Heran over the award.
Speaking on the Award Honoring Ceremony, Dr. Boureima Sambo said “since 2014, Ethiopia has received Keycap digit five No Tobacco awards which is symbolic of successive advances that the country has achieved in tobacco control.”
Senior officials including the Health Minister Dr. Lia Tadesse have attended the award giving ceremony.
