Exhibition showcasing Ethiopia’s diplomacy to kick off next week

Addis Ababa, January 4, 2024 (FBC) – A diplomatic exhibition focusing on Ethiopia’s history of diplomacy and current diplomatic achievements is scheduled to open ‪next week on Thursday, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Ambassador Meles Alem (PhD), Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, told the press today that the Ethiopian Diplomacy Week will take place ‪from January 11 to February 2, 2024.

The spokesperson said showcasing Ethiopia’s long history of diplomacy is one way to highlight Ethiopia’s role in Africa, the Horn of Africa, and global venues.

The exhibition aims to inspire Ethiopians to discover more about their country’s diplomatic history and to help them appreciate its potential, build trust, and contribute in the future, the ambassador said.

As the spokesperson noted, the event is also important in preserving the institution’s memory and showing the potential for new diplomatic avenues in the future.

In connection with that, the ambassador said books documenting the diplomatic activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as an institution for the last 116 years and a diplomatic journal, will be officially released at the event.

The exhibition will be held at the Science Museum in Addis Ababa under the theme “From the Capital of Africa to the World Stage, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
