Horn Finance Ministers Roundtable Happens Virtually

Addis Ababa, October 28, 2021 (FBC) – The Horn of Africa Initiative Ministerial Roundtable has been conducted Wednesday virtually.

The discussion has assessed ways of furthering the initiative.

The Finance Ministers of Ethiopia, Djibouti, Kenya, Somalia, and the Sudan along with delegates of the World Bank, the African Development Bank, the European Union, and IGAD, have attended the discussion.

The Initiative is said to have helped furthering integration that addresses the development challenges in transport connectivity, energy trade, digital economy, trade facilitation, agro-pastoralism, locust control, and building the overall resilience in the sub-region.

Ethiopia’s Finance Minister Ahmed Shide has recognized the significant progress the Initiative is making while appreciating the continued support of development partners such as the World Bank, African Development Bank, and the European Union to the Initiative.
