House approves the State of Emergency

Addis Ababa, November 4, 2021 (FBC) – The House of Peoples Representatives has approved the state of emergency proclamation that was referred to it by the Council of Ministers.

It is to be recalled that the Council of Ministers declared the State of Emergency 5/14 in a bid to protect the community and the nation at large from a security threat posed by the terrorist group.

The House also approved nomination of members and chairs of the Investigative Board of the State of Emergency Operation. Accordingly, appointment of:

  1. Lema Tesema ———- Board Chairperson
  2. Workesemu Mamo ———- Vice Board Chairperson
  3. Solomon Lale ———– Member
  4. Bifti Mohammed ——– Member
  5. Christian Tadelle ———- Member
  6. Mitiku Mada —————– Member
  7. Gemechu Beshada ——— Member has been approved by the House. The chairs and members have sworn in in an oath ceremony led by Supreme Court President Meaza Ashenafi.
