Addis Ababa, October 13, 2020 (FBC) –The Ethiopian Information Network Security Agency (INSA) said it has started implementation of its five-year digital transformation plan.
Dr Shumete Yigzaw, director-general at INSA, told journalists today the implementation of the plan would put the agency in a better position to fulfil its mission.
He said the agency is ready to foil cyber-attacks from inside and outside, targeting mega projects launched in the country, the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) in particular.
According to Dr Shumete, the agency has prepared a new logo that shows its mission and objective.
The director general also rejected claims that Ethiopia had banned entry of drones.
“No drone is barred from entering into the country after meeting the necessary safety requirements,” he said.
Requests made from various regions, including Tigray, to import drones to fight desert locust are being entertained in line with the directive, he said.
