Irreechaa is a symbol of national peace, unity

Addis Ababa, September 28, 2022 (FBC) – Head of the Ethiopian Youth Peace and Prosperity Mission League, Birhanu Bekele, stated that Irreechaa festival is the center of common peace, unity and the beauty of Ethiopia.

The Ethiopian Youth Peace and Prosperity Mission League held a discussion with the youth from Addis Ababa city in attendance of senior government officials, academics, Hadha Sinqees, Abba Gadaas, and elders.

Taddese Dechasa, an academic at Addis Ababa University, said that Irreechaa festival is a day of praising the god of peace and a national thanksgiving day.

Nabsa Ahmedin, State Minister of Culture and Sports Ministry-Ethiopia, said the culture was inherited from forefathers and it should be preserved with its historical tradition even for economic benefit.

The Irreechaa festival, Horaa Finfinnee and Horaa Arsadi, will be celebrated this weekend, according to the Addis Ababa City Administration Culture, Arts and Tourism Bureau.
