Italian Prime Minister Arrives in Addis Ababa For An Official Working Visit

Addis Ababa, April 14, 2023 (FBC) –The Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, arrived in Addis Ababa this afternoon for a two-day official visit.

FDRE Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed accorded a warm welcome to the Italian Prime Minister, upon her arrival at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport.

Giorgia Meloni, Prime Minister of the Republic of Italy, will pay a two-day official visit (April 14–15, 2023) to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, according to a social media post of PM Abiy.

The visit is aimed at deepening the partnership between the two countries, Ministry of Foreign Affairs has indicated.

It is stated that during her stay, the Prime Minister will meet with high-level Government officials from Ethiopia and the African Union.

Strengthening humanitarian and development assistance support to Ethiopia will be at the top of the agenda. Ideas will also be exchanged on regional, continental, and global issues of common concern.

It is also stated that Italy is one of Ethiopia’s main development partners.
