Kenya’s president commends Ethiopian gov’t for granting Safaricom mobile money transfer

Addis Ababa, October 6, 2022 (FBC) – Kenya’s President William Ruto commended the Ethiopian government for granting Safaricom to begin mobile money transfer.

Safaricom Ethiopia’s nationwide internet service launch program was held at the Friendship Square, in Addis Ababa.

Hence, the Ethiopian government has allowed Safaricom to commence mobile money transfers.

President William Ruto said, “When I came to Ethiopia, the people of Kenya gave me homework to do, and I thank the Ethiopian government for granting this service.

Safaricom also announced that it will work to replicate the success of M-Pesa financial services in Kenya.

It is remembered that Ethio Telecom has benefited millions by launching the TeleBirr service in the past.
