Addis Ababa, June 12, 2023 (FBC) – Ethiopian Ambassador Extraordinary & Plenipotentiary to Japan Daba Debele met today with Marubeni Corporation Representatives at the Embassy to discuss issues pertaining to trade and Foreign Direct Investment in Ethiopia.
During the discussions, Ambassador Daba made extensive explanations about huge business potentials and opportunities in Ethiopia.
He underscored that his government is now implementing a wide range of reform in the sector to attract foreign investors. In this regard, the Ambassador called on the corporation to increase the volume and variety of products importing from Ethiopia to Japan as well as to engage in a variety of investment opportunities in the country.
The representatives of the Marubeni Corporation, on their part, acknowledged ambassador for delivering the explanations and recognized the business potentials and opportunities of Ethiopia, and mentioned that in 1955, the Corporation has opened a Branch Office in Addis Ababa and since then it is conducting its business in Ethiopia.
In conclusion, the Ambassador Daba Debele assured the representatives of Marubeni Corporation of the Embassy’s readiness to provide the necessary support. He further affirmed that he would work closely with the corporation for its business engagement in Ethiopia, as per the Ethiopian Embassy in Tokyo.
