Addis Ababa, June 6, 2023 (FBC) – Mayor of Addis Ababa City, Adanech Abiebie, has launched today the construction of the Window of Africa Park in the Capital city.

It is stated that the Window of Africa Park will be built on an area that was previously designated as a park near the Bole International Airport and will cover a total of 84 hectares of land.

It is also mentioned that the project will store artifacts that reflect the culture and identity of each African country.

In her opening remarks at the launching ceremony, Mayor Adanech said that “one of the promises we made the day after the recent political reform was that we will make Addis Ababa as beautiful and new as its name.” She said that her city administration is proving that in practice.

“We have launched a big project where Africans can observe themselves and their identity when they come to Addis Ababa, the capital of Africa,” she said.

It is indicated that the project in the first phase will include a sports complex, recreation, park, green areas, artificial lake and swimming pools, vehicle parking and children’s playground on 14.5 hectares of land.
