Addis Ababa, June 4, 2020 (FBC) – The COVID-19 response ministerial committee today held discussion with heads of regional states and city administrations.
The discussions focused on means to prevent the spread of the pandemic, according to the Ministry of Peace.
The meeting evaluated that the community have become complacent about the pandemic despite a significant surge in COVID-19 cases in the country.
Accordingly, the meeting stressed the need for more awareness raising campaign and effective implementation of guidelines and measures imposed to prevent the spread of the virus.
The meeting also called for great care at health facilities as the virus is attacking health workers, besides tightening border surveillance and control.
The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Ethiopia now stands at 1,636, with 18 deaths so far.
