Addis Ababa, July 12, 2021 (FBC) – Agriculture Bureau of Oromia announced preparation to plant 351 Million tree seedlings in 12-hours tomorrow.
Head of the Bureau, Dr. Girma Amente said briefed journalists on tomorrow’s tree-planting program to be carried out at 1 Million ha of land in accordance with the ongoing third edition Green Legacy Initiative.
He disclosed a plan to plant 4 Billion tree seedlings in several parts of the region, adding that 1.8 Billion out of the planed trees have been planted so far during the past weeks.
Dr. Girma said that the region has secured 3.5 Million Euros from sale of carbon collected through public participation from the Bale Mountains.
