Over 166,000 people in need of humanitarian assistance in Borena Zone

Addis Ababa, October 16, 2021 (FBC) – Oromia Region Disaster Risk Management Commission said it is providing humanitarian assistance for people in need in Borena Zone.

The Commission said 166,136 people are in need of humanitarian assistance due to low rainfall induced drought.

Commissioner of Oromia Region Disaster Risk Management Commission, Abadir Abdo exclusively told FBC that the institution is working with the federal body to deliver additional food aid to people in need in the zone.

Emergency water trucking support is continued to address the water shortage in the area, regional Water and Energy Bureau Head, Engineer Million Bekele said.
