Police says people of Tigray participate in manhunt for TPLF clique leaders

Addis Ababa, January 5, 2021 (FBC) – The Federal Police Commission commended contribution of the people of Tigray in law enforcement operation the government carried out in the region.

In a statement issued today, federal police stated that it is getting information from people of Tigray that members of the TPLF clique are hiding in several areas concealing their identities with fraudulent ways after they encountered the defeat, the Federal Police said.

Police called up on the public to contribute their share in the hunt for perpetrators and search for their whereabouts so as to support the efforts underway to bring the culprits to justice.

Investigations are being continued on political leaders and military officers of the TPLF Junta who have been arrested over suspected of treason and crime of atrocities, police said.

Federal Police recalled that arrest warrant has been issued for more than 300 political leaders and military officials of the TPLF clique. Some 15 military officers of the clique out of the total fugitives for whom the arrest warrant was issued have been arrested so far, police said.

On the other hand, 5 wanted military officials are said to have been destroyed in the light of the law enforcement measure, according to the Federal Police.
