Addis Ababa, March 9, 2022 (FBC) – President Sahle-Work Zewde, patron of Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS) launched a humanitarian hotline organized by ERCS in partnership with Ethio Telecom aimed to fundraise for disaster-affected people in various parts of the country.
The fundraising program which will last for one year would help provide support to Ethiopians affected by various manmade and natural disasters. The fundraising campaign will run through 9400 hotline.
President Sahle-Work Zewde called on all Ethiopians and friends of Ethiopia to contribute their part in the rehabilitation endeavors via the SMS hotline.
Reports indicate that more than 4 million people in Somali Region and Southern and Easter parts of Oromia are facing water shortage due to prevalence of drought in the areas.
