Addis Ababa, June 13, 2023 (FBC) – Ambassador, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ethiopia to China, Tefera Derbew has met and discussed with the Chairman of China Mining (Shanxi) Energy Group, Zhang Zhipeng, on possible ways of investing in Ethiopia.
During the discussion, the Ambassador has briefed the Chairman and his team about the immense investment potential that exists in Ethiopia’s priority industry sectors.
He also mentioned successful implementation economic reforms in the past consecutive years that have placed Ethiopia as a competitive and attractive destination for foreign direct investment.
He also briefed the company on why they should invest in Ethiopia’s Mining Sector.
Zhang Zhipeng on his part stated that, China Mining (Shanxi) Energy Group is a well know mining and energy company in China with a huge investment and market in the world.
He also mentioned that his company is determined to invest in Ethiopia’s mining sector and they are readily fulfilling the necessary procedures to start the operation in the country.
Finally, the Ambassador assured the Company the readiness of the Embassy in facilitating their investment.
China Mining (Shanxi) Energy Group Co., Ltd. is a subsidiary of China Mining United Investment Group Co., Ltd., which was established in 2009 with a registered capital of 1.5 billion Yuan.
