TPLF clique will be held accountable for crimes committed in different parts of Ethiopia: Att Gen

Addis Ababa, November 27, 2020 (FBC) –The Federal Attorney General, Dr Gedion Timothewos, said TPLF clique will be held accountable for the crimes it committed in different parts of the country.

The attack committed by TPLF against the North Command of the Ethiopian National Defence Forces is a violation of sovereignty and unacceptable act in any country.

Since the federal administration is the lawful authority to administer the country, the government was forced to engage in law enforcement operation in Tigray regional state, Dr Gedion said on the BBC’s HARDtalk program.

The attack perpetrator against the Northern Command and the previous provocation of the TPLF left the government with no option but to respond with force to impose law and order, he said

The government has been at pace to avoid this kind of scenario for more than two years, urging the TPLF leadership to resolve differences in a peaceful manner, the Attorney General indicated.

He said the federal administration is taking every precaution possible to ensure that civilians will be protected and humanitarian charter are kept to the minimum.
