UAE president reaffirms determination to augment bilateral ties with Ethiopia in multifaceted areas

Addis Ababa, August 17, 2023 (FBC) – The President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheik Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, reaffirmed his country’s determination to augment the bilateral relations with Ethiopia through the exploration of areas that have hitherto remained little exploited, including the economic, industrial, agricultural, and tourism sectors.

The UAE President made the statement while receiving letters of credence from Ethiopia’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Oumer Hussien, in a ceremony held at the Presidential Palace on August 16, 2023.

At the occasion, Ambassador Oumer conveyed the greetings and best wishes of the President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Sahle-Work Zewde, to President Sheik Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

He also underscored the existing close relations between the two countries and pledged to work towards the consolidation and strengthening of these bilateral ties in all areas with renewed vigor.

President Sheik Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for his part, extended his congratulations on the appointment of Ambassador Oumer and welcomed him to the United Arab Emirates. He also expressed his gratitude for the goodwill wishes of President Sahle-Work Zewde and the people of Ethiopia, which he reciprocated.

While stressing the need to work to strengthen and diversify the excellent bilateral relations, Sheik Mohammed reaffirmed his country’s determination to augment the bilateral relations through the exploration of areas that have hitherto remained little exploited, including the economic, industrial, agricultural, and tourism sectors.

The President also pledged the availability of the UAE Government to extend all necessary support to the Ambassador, as per the Ethiopian Embassy in UAE/Abu Dhabi.
