Upper House speaker lays cornerstone for Dire Dawa City Industrial Complex

Addis Ababa, April 18, 2021 (FBC) – The Speaker of the House of Federation, Adem Farah has laid a cornerstone for construction of state of the art industrial complex in Dire Dawa City.

High ranking government officials including Deputy President of Somali Regional State, Mustafa Omer and Trade and Industry Minister, Melaku Alebel, among others.

The industrial complex to be built by National Cement S.C. in Dire Dawa is said to incorporate a metal factory and other building material production and processing plants.

According to Public Relations Office of the House, the construction will be carried by two giant construction companies: East Africa Holding and the Chinese West International Holding.

The industrial complex to lay on 103,000 ha of land has a capacity of producing 5,000 ton of cement on a daily basis, and create 10, 000 jobs for citizens, it is indicated on the cornerstone laying ceremony.
